It also explains how this differs from using our website, app, programs, and general offerings.

To provide clarity, TLWCC distinguishes between Users and Clients.
Users (Website, App, Courses, and Community)
You are considered a User if you:

engage in clinical services with a licensed provider
As a Client:

your information is stored in our secure electronic health record system, Practice Better

your information is protected under HIPAA
IMPORTANT GUIDELINE FOR USERS
Information submitted through the website, app, courses, or programs should not include sensitive or confidential health information.
Examples of information you should not submit outside of clinical services include:

diagnoses or symptoms

therapy-related concerns

personal mental health history

detailed personal disclosures
COMMUNITY AND GROUP SETTINGS
Some Users may participate in:

workshops

online or app-based community spaces

To manage and improve services
Required by Law
Including abuse reporting, court orders, and public health requirements
Serious Threat to Health or Safety
To prevent harm when necessary
Communication
For appointment reminders and service-related communication
SPECIAL PROTECTIONS
Psychotherapy Notes
Psychotherapy notes are maintained separately in our electronic health record and receive additional protection.
They are not stored on this website and are not disclosed without written authorization except as permitted by law.

Clients have the right to:

ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION
Electronic communication (email, text, or app-based messaging) carries some level of risk.
For clinical communication, Clients may be directed to use our secure client portal.
